Defining You!

The self is not something that one finds. It is something that one creates. - Thomas Szasz (1920-) (American Psychiatrist) Quite an interesting quotoation, worth some contemplation on... It is quite true that we define what we are. Lets start with this...describe someone, not related to you,not your friend, but then someone you meet often in your daily life. Okay, let me take my gardener. He visits us once in a fortnight, to clean the garden, trim my lawn and shrubs, adds fertiliser to my plants, etc. He is a thin person, in the age group of 55-60. He speaks kannada only, and understands little tamil,he wears the same shirt everyday, and he has a green bicycle. He always carry a scythe and a small spade.Basically a very calm person, finishes his job and gets the money its worth for from me.So thats how I know Mr.X, (I really dunno his name, shame on me). So we can conclude we define someone by his/her appearance, attire, profession, skills, things that they use everyday, language, etc. Eg: A

CELEBRATION

What does it cost to have a Celebration .... (Imagine the scene as you read along) A winter evening. Four friends. Rain Outside. Four glasses of chai. Hundred bucks for petrol. A rusty old bike. And an open road. Maggi noodles. A hostel room. 4.25 a.m. 3 old friends. 3 separate cities. 3 coffee mugs. 1 internet messenger. Rain on a hot tin roof. Pakoras deep-frying. Neighbours dropping in. A party. You and mom. A summer night. A bottle of coconut oil. A head massage. Gossiping about absent family members. You can spend hundreds on birthdays, thousands on festivals, lakhs on weddings, but to celebrate all we have to spend is our TIME!!

Dream Machine

Before that, some research on why we dream: Dreams focus upon our thoughts and emotions, and deal with immediate concerns in our lives, such as unfinished business from the day, or concerns we are incapable of handling during the course of the day. Dreams can, in fact, teach us things about ourselves that we are unaware of.Many scientists have worked upon things they dreamt and have landed on success. Sigmund Freud, one of the fathers of modern psychology, believed dreams to be symbolic of any number of things buried deep within our minds and our memories. Not everyone remembers their dreams. Our dreams may shock, disgust or delight us, or they may be so vivid that the emotions they provoke can affect our mood for the entire day. Also some people who are very in touch with their emotions recall their dreams very well. Others, with "alexithymic" personalities (people f

Weird ... But why me??

Priya - my dear blogworld friend has requested me to blog on this topic....Here I go with my reflections on "Five weird things about me...." The dictionary describes 'weird' as ;something supernatural; unearthly; archaic and unnatural .So inshort something offbeat or strikingly unconventional! Hmm let me think, what are such traits in me that are WEIRD.... 1) FORGIVING - அநியாயத்துக்கு நான் மத்தவங்களை மன்னிச்சிடுவேன்! NO PROBLEM, that was how I was born and I will remain to be. I actually love this trait in me.. I strongly believe that கோபமும் பொறாமையும் நம்மை அறியாமலே நம்மை அழிக்கும் குணங்கள். 2) ADDICTION TO SPORTS - எனக்கு பிடித்த games-யாரும் விளையாட அழைத்தால், எல்லா வேலையையும் விட்டுட்டு போய் விளையாடுவேன்.
