My Son turned One!

Image
Amidst all the work at office, and chores at home, and times for friends, and love at family a year rolled by since our son was born. Ever since his birth I have noticed a drastic change in my attitude and mindset! Yup, d-r-a-s-t-i-c thats the right word to use here. Every time am angry, when I see his face, with a naughty grin... I lose myself completely. Things that really used to bother me, worries or responsibilities seem nothing before spending a minute with the little bundle of joy. I have witnessed many moments in my life when I felt proud of myself, patted myself (dont ask me how I can do that) and said "good job". There have been moments when friends and parents said "am proud of you". But then the best moment all life, I would say is when I felt the tiny fingers of my son with mine. The first look he gave me and those lovely tears on my eyes.. Though this sounds cinematic, tell me is'nt the filmdom but a reflection of life... Yesterday when we cut the

A Brave and Startling Truth .. Anonymous..

We, this people, on a small and lonely planet Traveling through casual space Past aloof stars, across the way of indifferent suns To a destination where all signs tell us It is possible and imperative that we learn A brave and startling truth. And when we come to it To the day of peacemaking When we release our fingers From fists of hostility And allow the pure air to cool our palms When we come to it When the curtain falls on the minstrel show of hate And faces sooted with scorn are scrubbed clean When battlefields and coliseum No longer rake our unique and particular sons and daughters Up with the bruised and bloody grass To lie in identical plots in foreign soil When the rapacious storming of the churches The screaming racket in the temples have ceased When the pennants are waving gaily When the banners of the world tremble Stoutly in the good, clean breeze When we come to it When we let the rifles fall from our shoulders And children dress their dolls in flags of truce When land mi

Earworm.....

How many times have we wondered why this song got stuck on my head from morning or why am I humming this all day.. While brushing through The Hindu today caught this cute article on Earworms . The phenomenon of "cant get this song out of mind" is defined as an earworm. The word etymology is from the German "Ohrwurm", a term for a song stuck in one's head, particularly an annoying one!! Popular Example of an earworm : In the film Shrek , there is a parody of the song "it's a small world" by the Sherman Brothers. So what do we do when we get affected by one... To try and dislodge the song, two-thirds of the time people will try humming a different song; 14% of the time, they try humming the song to its end ,the internet says!! I can hear you say, that you have similar experiences too.. Boy, am I glad to hear there are so many other people like myself, however. And why is it that some days my mind is completely calm and not bothered by intrusive melod

To get started..

Long time ... this word "Blog" has been lingering on my mind. Some people have asked me whether I write blogs, they claim my mails and creations to be inline with today's blogs. So why not..But How to name it? Started contemplating on WHY... Good way to start an analysis, do a case study, plan anything... So sprung out WHY ME? Hope my dear pals would agree to this not so nice- not so boring name... So look forward for some stuff that arises from my cerebrum to adorn this little corner of mine .. Good Blogging to me... But why me??? ;-)
