Living a day at a time

I recently came across this phrase in an article, in a popular magazine. 'Living a day at a time' - this sure does mean a lot! Do we really do live one day at a time? I dont think so, atleast considering the way I live. But, when I gave it a thought, it does signify something BIG. Leave alone the past, it cant be undone, forget about the future, it is not in your hands, but what you have with yourself now, and which is all yours is TODAY. Live it, cherish every part of it, remember its not gonna come your way ever again in this lifetime. You cant buy this day with any amount of money.

When talking of taking control of today, we can accomplish what we want, work with all your might, dont think about the result that you may obtain tomorrow, just enjoy the process. Liked this part of it actually - Loving what you do, makes your mind peaceful, gives you a satisfaction nothing else in the world can give when you complete it!

If we say we should forget about the past, we actually mean, that merely accept the things that have happened. When saying dont worry about the future, it clearly does not mean dont save/plan for tomorrow. It just clarifies that we have no control over what is yet to happen!

Give it a thought. If it means something to you too, do fill in with your comments.. Live One Day At A Time!

Nice write up.

1. "It just clarifies that we have no control over what is yet to happen!"

The above statement is true in the sense that God has already planned what is to happen.

2. "it clearly does not mean dont save/plan for tomorrow".

True too.

I somehow feel that 1 and 2 are contradicting each other.

If we don't fill up the petrol tank and instead laze around, we can't ride the car the next time.
So, you sure have to fill it up and thus you are doing something to aide your future act.

mm.. yes this kind of atomic approach is flourishing in the management books. in software people call it as agile modelling and personal s/w management. ( konjam over s/w gyan ).

nice write up.
